Jimmy was born and raised in a small town in Northeastern, Pennsylvania. In 2017, after
watching a documentary on shelter dogs, he decided a career change was in order. He went
back to school and received his degree in Animal Care and Management from Alamance
County Community College in North Carolina.

After graduation, Jimmy returned to Pennsylvania and was hired as the Behavior and
Enrichment Coordinator for the Lackawanna County Humane Society. During his time with the
Humane Society, Jimmy gained valuable experience in shelter dog behavior, training and
enrichment, and went on to receive his certifications as a professional dog trainer and behavior
consultant with the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers.
When the situation presented itself in early 2021, Jimmy jumped at the opportunity to come to
Mountain Humane and work in the behavior department with Victoria. He instantly fell in love
with the area and spends his time exploring with his Bergamasco Sheepdog named Knappy.
