Tate grew up here in the beautiful Wood River Valley, hiking and exploring with her two dogs and cuddling her three cats, when they allowed it of course. She found herself in Flagstaff, Arizona studying Psychology, and after graduation not knowing what to do next. She traveled around, bouncing from place to place, spending a month in Guatemala volunteering at an orphanage and soaking up the culture, and finally landing in Portland, Oregon in the fall. Missing the mountains, she came back to Ketchum to visit her family for Christmas of 2016 and realizing this is where she was meant to be made the move back!
Since starting over in the valley, she has worked at the Community School as a leader in the preschool after school program and as a substitute in the preschool classrooms. Her passion for people and animals brought her to Mountain Humane in July, 2018, and has loved her position as an adoption counselor! She spends her free time enjoying what the area has to offer and showing Zak, her fiance from California, all the joys of their “new” home. It is only a matter of time before they give in and bring one of Mountain Humane’s amazing residents home!
