My relationship with the shelter began in 2003 when I adopted Bandit, a special needs dog from the shelter. Since then I have been a shelter volunteer and served on the board of directors. After retiring from a career in bio-technology, volunteering is where I found a new sense of purpose and discovered that the shelter is not just about animals but a place to make new friends, see families grow, witness the joy of love blooming when someone finds a new four-legged friend and sooth the heartbreak of loosing one. One of my great joys is meeting dogs (and their people) on the trails and hearing the life changing happy tails about these shelter alumni!
The staff and volunteers have been exceptional to work with and I am very proud to represent them in all they have achieved.
Thanks to them, Bandit, Tippin and now Millie have shared my life!
