Become A Foster

How do I become a foster, and what should I expect?

Fostering allows animals a break from the shelter and helps them de-stress. It also provides Mountain Humane with more information about your foster pet which helps them get adopted. Fill out an application by clicking on the button below. Our Foster Manager will contact you to learn more about what you are looking for in a foster pet. Once we find you a great match, we will schedule an appointment for you to come in and sign the paperwork, pick up supplies, provide available background information on the pet and take home your foster pet!

All fosters receive the following:

  • Supplies including: food, bed, toys, and crate (if requested)

  • Weekly check-in with staff

  • Any needed medical care

  • After-hours emergency support
