Fostering allows animals a break from the shelter and helps them de-stress, it also provides Mountain Humane with more information about your foster which helps them get adopted. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the company of a shelter pet, AND if you fall in love, you can adopt straight from your home! There is no expectation for our foster families to adopt, and fostering doesn’t cost you anything. We will work with you and greatly appreciate your willingness to help out!

“The best part of fostering is when someone special decides to adopt them to their forever home – hard to let them go, but then there’s another who will benefit from foster care. Fostering is a terrific way to support the shelter.” – Colleen, Foster Mom
