Re-homing Your Pet

Home to Home™

Home To Home™ helps pets stay out of shelters. It is a unique, direct-to-adopter tool for pet guardians looking to re-home their animals. This program is available for dogs, cats, and any other pet that is legal to own in the state of Idaho.

In just a few simple steps, pets can find a loving new home without ever seeing the inside of a shelter. It’s free to use for both guardians and adopters. It also gives animals needing a new home the best of both worlds: their current guardian can find the best fit, and their adopter can learn about their personality and preferences first-hand. It’s a win-win for pets!

Surrendering Your Pet for Re-Homing

Surrendering a pet to a shelter should always be a last resort.  Surrendered pets are received by appointment. Please call 208.788.4351 x301 to speak with our intake staff and obtain surrender paperwork. Once the surrender paperwork is complete, we will work with you to schedule an appointment for drop-off.

All the re-homing services listed (except for Home To Home, which is available to Idaho residents) are only available to Blaine County residents. However, for those needing support outside of Blaine County, we are happy to try to work with you to see what resources may be available in your area.

Surrendering or Re-Homing Your Pet

Sometimes situations make re-homing a pet necessary. Because you love your pet, our first solution is to try to provide the resources to find a way to keep your family together.
