Hope Perkins

Animal Behavior and Training Assistant

Hope grew up in the Wood River Valley, then lived for four years in Walla Walla, Washington to go to college.  They graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and German Studies, then moved back home to regroup during the COVID outbreak.  They started working at Mountain Humane as a member of the Animal Care Provider team out of a love and interest in both dogs and cats. After working at MH for around a year they fell in love with a lab/pit mix named Reagan and adopted them a few months after losing their last MH dog to cancer.  Hope and Reagan spend their free time training and hiking together.  When Hope is not with Reagan, they like to go mountain biking, read books, learn about animals and write their own fantasy stories.  Hope has now transitioned over to the Behavior department and is working towards becoming a certified dog trainer.
