Linda Potter

Board Member

After spending many years as visitors to the Wood River Valley, Linda and Bill Potter moved to the valley in 2002. After teaching for a short time, Linda has devoted almost all of her time to her family and community service. Linda was a member of the Solana Beach School District Board of Trustees for nearly 16 years, serving 8 of them as president. She sat on the North Coast Consortium for Special Education which served 13 school districts in San Diego for 15 years. She was also member of the San Diego National Charity League and its president in 1996. Linda taught art as a volunteer in the elementary schools for 11 years. Which resulted in her only real interaction with cats…they were the subjects of many drawings in her classes!

After moving to Hailey, Linda was a member of the Board of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts for 6 years. Linda and her family are involved in the STEPS scholarship program at The College of Central Florida and she is also a member The Appleton Museum of Art Advisory Council (since 2005). In December of 2008, Linda received the Distinguished Service Award from The College of Central Florida.

Never far from her beloved lab, Linda hikes, walks and snuggles with Quigley whenever possible. Visits from children, grandchildren, and especially granddogs are a highlight…especially the newest canine family member, Boulder, who left Mountain Humane for his forever home in Seattle almost 2 years ago.
